What is Cornhole?
Cornhole (also called Corn Toss, Baggo etc.) is a game very similar to Horseshoes. Cornhole can be played as singles or doubles. Players take turns pitching Cornhole Bags to a Cornhole Board. The goal is to be the first team or individual to score 21 points or exceed 21 points.
Cornhole Bags
8 bags total, 4 bags of the same color for two teams or individuals. Bags measure 6"x6" and weight 1 lb. each
Cornhole Boards
Boards should be placed 27 ft. apart front to front. Boards measure 4ft x 2ft and have a 6" diameter hole.
Cornhole Rules
- Start of play determined by coin flip
- Cornhole Playing Positions: Doubles - one member of each team pitches from one Cornhole Board and the team member pitches from the other Cornhole Board.
- An inning is never completed until all contestants pitch all four Cornhole Bags.
- Game starts by throwing a Cornhole Bag to opposite Cornhole Board. Player can throw from anywhere behind the front of the Cornhole Board, anywhere beyond that is a Foul. (If a Foul occurs, the player loses the throw and the bag shall be removed if it landed on the Board or in the Hole).
- Game continues by alternating throws between the two opponent players until all 8 Cornhole Bags have been thrown. Then the process is repeated. The first individual or team to score 21 points or exceed 21 points wins.
Scoring
- To score in Cornhole, the bags must either be tossed into the hole or on the board
- Cancellation Scoring is used - bags that fall in the hole and bags that land on the board that are pitched by opponents during an inning cancel each other out. For Example, if one player scores three points and the other player scores two points, the first player receives one point for the inning.
- Cornhole Bag in the Hole (even if knocked in by another bag) - 3 points
- Cornhole Bag on the Board - 1 point
- CornholeBags that touch the ground and bounce onto the board do not count and should be immediately removed prior to continuation of play.
- Cornhole Bags that touch both the ground and the board receive 0 points
- The Cornhole team or individual who wins the inning gets to throw first in the next inning.
- If the score remains the same in the next inning, the team who won the previous inning gets to go first.
